FUCK ICE, FUCK TRUMP

As a Hellenic Polytheist or a worshipper of our Gods, you cannot support a government that commits or enables human rights abuses. What ICE is doing is not “border enforcement.” It is cruelty. Any administration that allows this is betraying the very values it claims to defend.

The principle of Xenia is not optional. It is a moral obligation. We help our guests, whether they are guests in our home, or in our country.

I grew up in Belgium, a country that still carries the scars of Nazi occupation. I walked through one of the most brutal concentration camps (Breendonk) at sixteen. Those images never leave you. To see similarities of that brutality in modern USA (a nation that boasts about freedom and greatness) is a disgrace to our ancestors who fought against tyranny. And now we see federal retaliation against Minnesota for protesting ICE, including blocking Medicaid funding. It is unconstitutional, authoritarian, and an attack on free speech. The executive branch does not have this power, and it is downright illegal!

On the other side of the world, the Iranian people are fighting for their dignity against a regime that has oppressed women, silenced youth, and crushed dissent for decades. They deserve genuine international help. However, I sincerely doubt the intentions of Trump and Netanyahu in these attacks, and what will happen to the Iranian people after this regime falls.

Dear Mr. Trump,

How many more Iranians, Palestinians, Israelis and Americans have to die to adequately distract from the Epstein files? How many of your own citizens have to suffer because of your ego and low intellegence? How many deaths will it take for you to be less of a coward and admit to the wrong you have done? I fear the worst.

But we are not powerless. Be angry. Protest. Organize. Donate. Amplify. Refuse to look away. Refuse to normalize cruelty, whether it comes from Tehran, Washington, or anywhere else.
