How to worship Hades
Short description
Hades is the quiet ruler of what lies beneath. A god of death, but also of hidden wealth, boundaries, and rightful order. Spiritually, he represents acceptance, finality, and the sacredness of endings. He teaches respect for limits, responsibility, and the unseen structures that hold life together.
Symbolism
Sacred symbols of Hades include Asphodel, mint, the white poplar and pomegranate. Animals associated with him are the sreech owl, and especially Cerberus, the three-headed hound. Some sacred symbols are the royal sceptre and the cornucopia. Keys, scepters, and precious metals also fall under his domain.
Prayer
This is meant as an example, not a rule or expectationO Hades, unseen one, keeper of the Gates. Great king, in realms unseen, your kingdom lies. You who rules with wisdom and unshaken will. For in your realm of quiet gloom, eternal rest becomes the tomb. Mighty are you, the saviour of the dead. May you grant me guidance through the shadows, clarity in times of uncertainty, and strength in the face of the inevitable. Please hear my prayers and accept my offerings to you in gratitude for your blessings. Hail Hades, King of the Underworld. May I be received with honour at your gates.
