How to worship Aphrodite

Short description

Eros is the winged god of desire, attraction, longing, and passionate creation. In some traditions he is the playful son of Aphrodite, while in older cosmology he is a primordial force born near the beginning of existence itself, drawing all things together through love and yearning. Spiritually, Eros represents connection, beauty, emotional vulnerability, creative inspiration, intimacy, and the sacred force that binds the kosmos.

Symbolism

Sacred symbols of Eros include bows and arrows, roses, hearts, wings, seashells, mirrors, and golden cords. Animals associated with him include doves, sparrows, swans, and hares. Sacred plants include roses, myrtle, apple blossoms, and red flowers.

Prayer

This is meant as an example, not a rule or expectation

O beautiful Eros, winged lord of longing, Golden-hearted god who stirs the souls of gods and mortals alike, You who kindle love within the hearts of all living beings, Awaken within me joy, compassion, and honest affection. Teach me to love without cruelty or possession, And to see beauty within both myself and others. May your sacred arrows inspire creation rather than destruction, And may my heart remain open to wonder and tenderness. Accept these offerings given with admiration and reverence. Hail Eros, ancient power of desire and divine connection.
